熊本・天草を拠点に活動する『MURE -群』は、古布や服作りの際に出るハギレ、自身で染めた布、使われなくなった生地や服などを再利用し、BORO生地などへと生まれ変わらせる、無駄のないものづくりを行っています。何層にも重ねられた古布や手染めの蚊帳布に、ひと針ずつ丁寧に刺し子が施されたコースターは、使い込むほどに風合いが増し、経年変化も楽しめる一点もの。現代作家の陶器やガラスとも相性がよく、テーブルの上に小さなアートピースのような存在感を添えてくれます。
